Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 6, 2026
1. Who We Are
Pairify ("Pairify," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Pairify mobile application (the "App"), a dating and social-connection service. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
If you have questions about this Policy or your personal data, contact us at [email protected].
By creating an account or otherwise using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy.
2. Who Can Use Pairify
Pairify is intended for use only by individuals 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from someone under 18, we will delete it as soon as reasonably possible.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information you give us directly
- Account and profile information: your name, email address, date of birth, gender, country, a short bio, and your relationship "intent" (what you're looking for).
- Photos: profile photos you upload, photos you post to the community feed, and photos you send in chat (including photos marked "one-time view," described in Section 6).
- Verification information: if you complete profile verification, the photo or information you submit for that purpose.
- Messages and content: chat messages, post captions, comments, and reactions you create within the App.
- Support communications: messages (and any attached screenshots/photos) you send us through in-app support requests.
- Sign-in information: if you sign in with Google, we receive the basic profile information Google shares with us for authentication purposes (such as your name and email address), consistent with Google's own privacy practices.
3.2 Information we collect automatically
- Usage data: your swipes, likes, matches, profile views, and general in-app activity (e.g., when you last opened the App).
- Device information: a device identifier used to help secure your account and detect abuse.
- Push notification token: if you allow notifications, we store a device-specific token so we can deliver notifications to you (e.g., new match, new message, support replies). You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings; if a token becomes invalid (e.g., after uninstalling the App), we delete it automatically.
3.3 Information we do not collect
We do not use GPS or precise-location tracking. Your "country" is a value you provide yourself in your profile, not automatically detected. We do not currently use any third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to:
- Create and manage your account, and verify your identity where applicable.
- Show you other users' profiles and power the swipe/match features.
- Enable messaging between matched users, including message requests and "opening move" replies.
- Enable the community post feed, including reactions and comments.
- Deliver push notifications for matches, messages, post activity, support replies, and service announcements.
- Respond to support requests and enforce our Terms of Service, including reviewing reports and blocks.
- Offer and manage Pairify Premium subscription features.
- Maintain the safety, security, and integrity of the App (e.g., detecting fraudulent or abusive accounts).
- Improve and maintain the App.
5. Who We Share Information With
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: we use Google Firebase (including Firestore, Cloud Storage, Authentication, and Cloud Messaging) to host, store, and process App data, and Vercel to host our internal administration tools. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their own data-processing and security commitments.
- Other users: information you choose to make visible on your profile or in posts (such as your photos, bio, and name) is visible to other users of the App, consistent with the App's normal functioning. Messages are visible only to you and the person you're messaging.
- Legal and safety reasons: we may disclose information if required by law, or if we believe in good faith it's necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Pairify, our users, or the public, or to investigate violations of our Terms of Service. This includes reporting confirmed child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) or relevant law enforcement, as required by law.
- Business transfers: if Pairify is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy (or a policy at least as protective).
- Payment processing: if you purchase Pairify Premium, your payment is handled entirely by Google Play Billing; we do not receive or store your payment card details.
6. One-Time-View Photos
Photos you or others send in chat marked as "one-time view" are intended to be viewed once by the recipient. Once opened, they are marked as viewed and the App does not allow the recipient to reopen the original image within the App. The App also actively blocks screenshots and screen recordings while a one-time-view photo is displayed. We cannot, however, prevent someone from photographing the screen using a separate camera or device — please use this feature with that in mind.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
-
Support requests: closed support cases are automatically and permanently deleted from our systems 30 days after closure.
-
Deleting your own account: the App's Settings include a "Delete My Account" option. When you use it:
- Your profile is immediately hidden from every other user — you disappear from the swipe deck, the community feed, and search, and existing matches see your profile as unavailable.
- You then have 30 days to change your mind. If you simply log back in during this window, your account and all of its data (profile, photos, posts, matches, messages) are automatically restored, exactly as they were — there is no separate approval step or waiting period to undo a deletion request; logging in is the undo.
- If you do not log back in within 30 days, your account is permanently and irreversibly deleted: your profile, all photos (in the app and in our storage systems), posts, comments, reactions, bookmarks, hidden-content preferences, and any chat messages and photos you sent are all erased from our systems. Your Google Sign-In / account credentials are deleted as well, and your email address becomes available for a new registration.
- The only thing we retain after this 30-day permanent deletion is a one-way cryptographic hash of your device identifier — a scrambled value that cannot be reversed back into the original identifier and is not linked to your name, email, or any other information about you. We keep this narrowly for fraud and abuse prevention (for example, detecting repeat attempts to re-register after a ban). It is not used for any other purpose.
- You can request this same deletion process at any time by emailing [email protected], if you're unable to use the in-app option for any reason.
-
Accounts removed by us for violating our Terms of Service (for example, a ban): we may retain a broader set of information — such as your name, bio, and other profile fields, in addition to the same categories described above — for a longer period, where necessary for safety, legal, or record-keeping purposes (for example, responding to an appeal, or investigating a pattern of abuse across accounts). This differs from the self-service deletion path above because the two situations serve different purposes: one is a request you make yourself, wanting your data gone; the other is an enforcement action we take, where retaining some context is necessary for accountability and safety.
-
We may retain limited information beyond any deletion described above where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
8. Your Choices and Rights
- You can review and update most of your profile information directly within the App.
- You can control notification permissions through your device settings.
- You can block or report other users directly within the App.
- You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting [email protected].
Pakistan does not currently have a comprehensive, enacted data protection law (see Section 10). Regardless, we aim to honor the spirit of the above rights for all users, wherever they're located.
9. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) between the App and our servers, and access controls restricting who can view user data internally. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Legal Basis and Governing Framework
This Policy, and our data practices, are governed by the laws of Pakistan. As of the date of this Policy, Pakistan has not enacted a comprehensive data protection statute; the applicable legal framework is the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, as amended (PECA). Notwithstanding the absence of a dedicated data protection law, we have structured our data practices around widely recognized international privacy principles as a matter of good practice.
If you are located outside Pakistan, please be aware that your information will be transferred to and processed in Pakistan and other countries (including wherever our service providers, such as Google Cloud/Firebase, operate their servers), which may have different data protection laws than your home country.
11. Children's Privacy
Pairify is not directed at, and must not be used by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected] so we can delete it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the App after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
